How do we achieve a healthy lifestyle? It is quite difficult for a number of people to do this and it could be for a variety of reasons; they could be so used to their lifestyle that it is hard to break out of an unhealthy routine; they could lead hectic lives that means keeping healthy is almost impossible or the reasons could lie elsewhere such as lack of knowledge on the subject.
Whatever the reasons for not being healthy, there are a number of ways of changing. By maintaining a healthy lifestyle you could be reducing the risk of a number of diseases such as diabetes, osteoporosis, heart disease and cancer. You could also make yourself feel better about yourself and avoid issues such as depression.
To do this we need to make sure we implement two things: A healthy diet and plenty of exercise. We should eat a lot of fruit and veg (five portions a day), protein (meats, fish, eggs), starch (rice, bread, pasta), dairy (milk) and a small amount of fat to maintain a balanced diet. We should also get enough exercise – around 30 minutes a day – to keep ourselves fit and healthy.
